I have also been playing with scale... layering large text over smaller patterns and in turn looking at how this works on menswear shapes.... i need to be bold with the caravan text as interesting distorted marks are starting to appear....

Tag-a-long...

I have been creating collections of co-ordinate samples to work alongside my larger placement designs... using a range of heavy-weight fabrics... denim, cotton twill, silk tweed...

I have been working on initial design ideas for 3-4 meter fabric lengths for the my degree show… using collage drawings and screen print…. it will be a design ‘work-in-progress’ as i will let the dramatic change in scale (from a drawing to the final hand-printed fabric length) influence and inspire new design ideas to develop as i print…

Camping and Caravanning

So I am now working towards the final major project of my degree and have chosen the drawing concept of vintage caravans and camping holidays. I am continuing with a 'menswear' context in mind.... here are few developmental prints I have created so far...

Little Bit About Me

Here are a few photos of prints and various projects I have created over the last year at NUCA....

Lets Play... - Here are a few photos of my first (of two) final major projects for my degree. Continuing on with my love for a vintage drawing concept I chose the imagery of vintage games and toys.

Sweet Shop - The exciting colours of sweets stacked floor to ceiling in jars, to the old-fashioned measurements, weights and scales used to price the confectionary.

Well Travelled - travel luggage: from men’s vintage leather suitcases to feminine retro vanity cases. Telling the narrative of the luggage. Where has it been? Who owns it? What’s in my bag? In this project my print design explored all types of luggage as well as drawing from associated items, such as tickets, labels, passports and stamps.

I entered these boards into the 'Bradford Textile Society' competition 2009 and won 1st prize for 'Textile Finishers Association Award'. I was also awarded the 'Presidential Prize'.
